Our History
As a family owned operation, which began in 1991, we have built our foundation on customer service and satisfaction. Our customers our loyal because we pride ourselves in providing the highest quality service and care to our customers, whether they order one tree or 500.
Our primary mission is to grow and sell premium quality Christmas trees for customers to cut fresh on the farm. As a testament to our commitment to quality, we won the Grand Champion Award for Best in Show in 2001 & 2006 at the Annual New Jersey Christmas Tree Contest. In recent years we have increased our production of nursery stock to meet customer demand for fresh dug, premium quality, live trees. We now operate from two farms, one located in Somerset and one in Robbinsville, and currently have over 10,000 evergreen trees under cultivation. We also manage two additional local farms where we have exclusive interest in larger, specimen quality evergreens. Our nursery orders are hand dug, balled and burlapped and filled to order.
Our Future...
Each year McLaughlin Tree Farm plants thousands of new trees with the hope that some day they will be ready for sale. In the process of establishing and growing our farms we search the country for genetically superior seedling sources, in fact some of the plants we grow hold U.S. Government plant patents. We are always eager to grow new species, varieties and cultivars and now have over 20 species of evergreens in production for future availability as nursery stock and/or Christmas Trees. Some of the species include: Norway, white, Colorado blue, Serbian, Meyer and Engelman spruce; Douglas, Canaan, Korean, Noble, Turkey, Fraser, Concolor, Veitch, and Nordmann Fir; and six varieties of holly including winterberry. Other plants under cultivation for the future include: Servicberry, river birch, several viburnum species, Hinoki Cypress, Japanese white pine, blue atlas cedar, emerald green, mission, dark American and green giant arborvitae and eastern redcedar.
